Every great love story starts with flowers, at least that’s what the movies tell us and what our parents tell us we need to swoon the love of our life.
There is something beautiful and romantic about any arrangement of flowers and the unspoken meaning behind them. The sight of flowers poking out of a vase on a table, hanging in a basket on the front step or carried by the bride as she strolls down the aisle just evokes a sense of pure joy and bliss, and lightens any mood. There is a sense of comfort and love that eases the mind no matter the situation, when you receive them you are instantly transported to a place of peace.
I think this is why we find ourselves recreating many flowers in the form of sugar, its almost as though we are immortalizing them, capturing their beauty in sugar just allows them to stick around a little longer.
You are adding a little extra love to your already delicious made cake!
To me, nothing says love and romance like the rose. The classic nature and nostalgia the rose holds just screams love to me so of course I had to master a way to recreate them.
Many hours of creating, checking out how others do it and coming up with a plan I have finally mastered MY signature rose.
It’s not botanically correct, it’s not your typical 5 petal Wilton creation.
It’s the way I do it, and what I found to be the easiest method to creating these beauties.
And you KNOW I have to share with you! 🙂
The following video, from a previous Facebook Live recording, will walk you through the process from beginning to end. It is an interactive video full of answers to questions asked during the broadcast. However if something wasn’t covered or you have a question PLEASE comment below or on the Facebook post and I will be sure to follow up.
Don’t forget to share your work. I love to see what you’ve created!
Hi Aaron, I didn’t have time to watch the entire tut so you may have answered this question, but do you dip your wire in something to make them food safe before putting in cake? Thanks.
Hi Shirley
Yes I do typically dip my wires in wax prior to inserting into the cake. In this case, where they were being placed was in a styro so I don’t believe I did.
In the buttercream is beautiful post near the end of the video I show how to make flowers food safe
